Connecting the receipt printer

Network, USB or Bluetooth: getting the first receipt out

A receipt printer prints the customer and kitchen receipts and opens the cash drawer. It works via ethernet, USB or Bluetooth. Pick the option that matches your register and follow the steps.

What you need

  • The receipt printer, power cord and a roll of 80 mm receipt paper
  • Ethernet, USB cable or Bluetooth, depending on your register
  • Optional: cash drawer with RJ11 cable
Connecting the receipt printer: Load paperStep 1 / 7

Load paper

Open the lid on top of the printer. Place the paper roll with the loose end coming forward from underneath, as shown on the sticker inside the printer.

Pull out a bit of paper and close the lid. The printer aligns the paper automatically.

Tip: Roll the wrong way? The receipt stays blank. Flip the roll and try again.

Quick check

  • Roll sits with the end coming forward
  • Lid closed, paper sticks out of the slot

Common mistakes

The receipt comes out blank

The paper is loaded the wrong way. Flip the roll so the end comes forward from underneath.

The printer is not found on the network

Check that register and printer are on the same network, not the guest network. Type the IP from the self-test manually.

The red light blinks

The lid is open or the paper ran out. Close the lid properly or load a new roll.

The drawer does not open

Check that the RJ11 cable is in the printer, not the router. Some drawers have a key that must be set to "open".
